Another Preseason poll has USC in Top 25

While five straight losses at the end of 2007 kept the University of South Carolina out of a bowl, the late-season swoon didn't keep the Gamecocks out of the 2008 preseason top 25.
USC, 6-6 a year ago, is ranked No. 23 in College Football News' preseason poll. The Gamecocks were one of seven Southeastern Conference teams ranked.

Ohio State is ranked No. 1 and Georgia, where CFN writes "expectations are off the charts," is ranked No. 2, followed by Oklahoma and Florida. The other SEC schools ranked are LSU 6th, Tennessee 12th, Auburn 14th and Alabama 24th. Clemson University, 9-4 last year, is ranked No. 20.

But as we know the preseason polls don't mean a lot but heck, it is great to see USC in the top 25 in the CFN poll and in the rivals poll.
