College Football Talk for the Weekend...

Kevin Kolb (pronounced "cob") is the QB at Houston. He is my sleeper pick thus far in the season. It all depends on if he can lead his team to a "W" against OSU and Miami. If so, move over Andre Ware and let's go ahead and start counting the ballots. His career statistics are insane -- 10,035 passing yards; 60 touchdowns; 60-percent completion percentage; 10,632 yards of total offense. He has claimed nearly every school passing record, joining David Klingler and Heisman Trophy winner Andre Ware as program legends.

Who else is in the running thus far for the Heisman you ask? ESPN is saying....
  • Chris Leak, QB at Fla
  • Ted Ginn, WR at 'The' Ohio State
  • Adrian Peterson, RB, Okla
  • Steve Slaton, RB, WVU
  • Troy Smith, RB, WVU
  • Brady Quinn, QB, ND

SO who has your vote thus far in the season or any other sleepers???

This weekend...

Go Tarheels....or as this blog likes to say "anyone but Clemson."

P.S. check out the gold teeth....or is that a "grill"

Once again

It seems like I posted this last year. That is right basebal's collegel fall ball has started up and Ray has the top recruiting class once again. If anybody would like to go on Sunday’s to watch the scrimmages just give me a call. Here is the article

Columbia, S.C. - The University of South Carolina baseball's incoming recruiting class has been named No. 1 in Collegiate Baseball's annual top recruiting class rankings as announced late Thursday evening. This is the third time in the last four years that the Carolina Baseball program has earned the top honor.
This year's 14 newcomers at Carolina include four players selected in this year's MLB Draft; Nick Fuller (3rd Round/Tampa Bay/RHP), Lonnie Chisenhall (11th round/Pittsburgh/INF), Jay Brown (18th round/Tampa Bay/RHP) and Sam Dyson (19th round/Washington/RHP).
Fuller was the second highest high school draft choice from the 2006 MLB Draft to decide on college baseball instead of pro baseball. The Georgia native was one of the top high school pitching prospects in the country with his slider ranked as the second best breaking ball pitch in high school last year by Baseball America. Chisenhall recently received the Louisville Slugger/BCA Player of the Year from the state of North Carolina, earned second team HS All-American team honors from Baseball America and was a two-time All-State selection at West Carteret HS. Brown comes to Carolina following two seasons at Young Harris College in Georgia. Brown played for Cotuit in the Cape Cod League this summer and was named to the All-Star team for the Western Division. Dyson pitched for Jesuit HS in Tampa, Fla. and earned Collegiate Baseball HS All-American honors last season as a senior in high school.
The other Gamecock newcomers include: two-time NC All-State selection Parker Bangs (C), SC All-State pitcher Blake Cooper (RHP), member of Region X champions at Spartanburg Methodist College, Jordan Costner (RHP) and Nic Godwin (RHP), two-time SC All-State selection Evan Goldberg (OF), 2006 NJCAA honorable mention All-American pitcher Curtis Johnson (RHP), 2005 MLB Draft selection Travis Jones (2B/OF) two-time SC All-State performer Chris Love (INF), SC All-Region star Sam Mahoney (C), and FCCAA All-Southern Conference pitcher Sean Wideberg (RHP).

Hot Seat

Well we all remember fire Ron Zook and how the websites popped up every where. Well guess what there is a new website http://www.retirecoachbowden.com/ That is right, the great Florida State has a website talking about firing Bobby Bowden. Times are changing.

Also on the agenda today, Mark Richt has a clause in his contract that he can leave UGA to coach Miami if the job comes open, no questions asked. How crazy would that be if he left the Dawgs for the Canes.

Times are changing.

Real Men of Genius

Today Budweiser salutes you - Mr. Gamecock Football Player Arrest Fixer Guy!

So busy, so busy all of the time. Every month you're back, back like "cooked crack."

Your undying efforts keep shady Gamecock football players out of the Pokey, and in Five Points after midnight where they belong.

Sucker punch that bouncer and run, you skinny hillbilly lookin boy.

Waston, Newton, Pinkins, Thompson, Watson, Telfort, Turman, Mitchell, Watson, and Watson all needed your help.

Ooohhh, just to name a few. And you're not through.

Whether it's another DUI, smoking marijuana, stolen laptops, hurting young women, or fights in Five Points with bouncers or the Student Body President.

Smack! Yeah b!tch, that's how we get down, how we get down.

Without you, Syvelle Newton would be in jail and couldn't start for Mitchell, now that he's been arrested. And you even got those charges dropped already - wow.

Ouch! Hot potatoes; drop them fast, drop them fast!

You get what you need by pressuring folks effectively - behind the scenes.

Ooohh. No one really knows what you do, but Cock lovers all thank you.
