Clemson safety DeAndre McDaniel gets off easy

Prosecutors say Clemson safety DeAndre McDaniel will be accepted into a program for first-time offenders to resolve charges of aggravated assault and battery.

Remember this is the kid that beat up his girlfriend over the summer....

Interesting statement within the article -
McDaniel has remained in school and on the football team since his arrest. Clemson coach Tommy Bowden said Friday he will make a recommendation to athletic director Terry Don Phillips next week on McDaniel's team status.

So will Clemson step up and do the right thing and suspend the kid for a game or two???

Fugitive of the Week: Limas Slater

This is WLTX fugitive of the week:

Now if you saw this guy in your neighborhood, would you think something was up. Where could this guy be hiding.
Here is a hint Columbia police, check behind Jungles in five points, he is probably back there waiting for a free egg roll and some crack. If he isn't there check in front of the college mart, asking for spare change or a cigarette. If they don't find him by next Thursday, he will probably be selling used corndogs beside the stadium between the hours of 4 - 10. This has been a public service announcement provided by LOHD.

N.C. State to start redshirt freshman at QB

Move over Elton

If anybody is interested, Syvelle Newton will be performing this Saturday August 23, 2008 at headliners here in Columbia. I am guessing the Canadian football league didn't work out, so he has turned to music. It might actually be a pretty good show, he did write a gamecock song a couple years ago, that was featured during the liberty bowl.

Cocktail's drink of the week

The Pineapple Bomber:
I had one of these the other day in New Mexico.  A little sweet, but set me on the right path.  Hot day, out cutting the grass?  Come in and have one of these!
  • 1 ounce coconut rum (can use Parrot Bay or Malibu)
  • 1 ounce Amaretto (I like Amaretto di Saronno)
  • 4 ounces pineapple juice
  • ice (as needed)
  • Mix it all together over ice and garnish with a lime.  Pretty tasty!
  • ONE MORE WEEK BITCHES!!!

8 days away and they are still working on Willy B
