Spurrier announces Ellis Johnson as DC

The drama from today is done....at least now our coaching change is complete but now Ark-Kansas is pissed.

The question out there still is "how does this affect recruiting?"

From Joe Person at The STATE---

"Steve Spurrier, at a press conference today announced Arkansas defensive coordinator Ellis Johnson as USC's new defensive coordinator."

Seems it has come full circle - Spurrier spoke with Johnson, who was then at Mississippi State, and reportedly offered him the job before hiring VanGorder, according to sources.

"Johnson received a three-year deal from new Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino, but has not signed the contract, according to another source close to Johnson.

Johnson is a South Carolina and former head coach of The Citadel. He has long expressed an interest in returning to the state, where he has a lot of friends and family."

Oh the drama...........watch the live press conference from work - HERE

Here are some day after news stories to catch up on if you missed the drama yesterday:

gee's south carolina is the drama queen of college football. just let it be. You don't see Clemson coaches running off to get more money at better schools or the NFL. They just love the Clemson team.

my homesick comment was a joke...I know his roots are firm in SC but I guess all this drama from today has everyone tense.

Let's hope Ellis gets here quick to close some deals on the signing day front.
