McCorvey & Spurrier Can Not Agree / So Go Hire Taneyhill

Seems the deal to bring the former Mississippi State Assistant Coach and OC over to USC has ended. Not sure if it was the best hire for the team anyway but I am not Steve Spurrier as he hopefully knows what is best for the team. Not surprising really that this did not work out as McCorvey would go from being a OC and a Assistant Coach to a WR Coach for USC. Moving down the line in my view....

So I would like to take this opportunity to renew our case for Spurrier to Hire Taneyhill. Steve at least make the call as it would be a positive news spin this week.

Clemson has better luck in getting coaches!

Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney has hired Charlie Harbison as secondary coach.

Harbison just completed his second season at Mississippi State.

Also coming to CU is former Tiger tight end Danny Pearman, hired from Maryland Tuesday, would coach tight ends and tackles.

I do not understand every USC fans obsession with hiring someone who used to play for us. Further, who thinks Tanneyhill can be a good WR or OL coach (recall - SOS Jr. is now QB coach)? Who thinks he can recruit? And is he really the BEST coach that we can get? Because if there is even one better coach out there, we would be fools not to hire him on the basis of something as silly as where they went to college. It's nice to have guys who played here in the program, but they can help in ways other than being one of the nine coaches we are limited to by NCAA rules.

"an administrative role on the staff of new Tigers coach Dabo Swinney"

WTF?!

I agree Snead. Good to hear from ya.

I hope this pisses Spurrier off that Dabo came in and hurt the deal. I hope he has renewed his desire to beat the sh*t out of clemson for the coming years b/c of this.

For the next month, this means Spurrier Jr. will stay put and Spurrier, himself, will handle the quarterbacks (not that that’s a big departure from the norm, anyway).
