USC Baseball drops in rankings

Being swept in a three-game weekend series at LSU cost the University of South Carolina five spots in this week's Baseball America rankings.

The Gamecocks (31-14) dropped from 12th to 17th in the rankings by the newspaper's staff. USC also dropped from 12th to 15th in the Collegiate Baseball poll. Miami remained No. 1 in both polls, with North Carolina second.

USC is idle until a weekend home series against Florida.

Since the blog has been sucking this week, i thought i would throw this out there. I guess you guys know the College Football League Commishioners pretty much through out the notion of a playoff or any changes to the current BCS. I could go on forever about how they are wrong, why they will not change, and I think everyone pretty much knows or has an idea of why. What I found interesting was ESPN did a poll on what you think about the BCS, keep it, add one, or 8 to 16 team playoff. Out of all the people who voted so far, having a playoff wins in a landslide, but the interesting part is that one particular state had the highest percentage of keeping the current BCS system. Any guesses?

you got it, freaking OHIO. go figure right. they keep getting to the championship game so they are happy. maybe one day they will learn how to play like someone who deserves to be there.

very good point, damn the big ten and Pac Ten. Let them play each other every year in the rose bowl and give us a true champion.

i agree with you on the Ohio State thing - it is crap and not doing the 4 team playoff is also crap.

I can not speak for the other bloggers on this blog but I have been out of town on buisness this week so that is why it has been silent from me....no worries though b/c in the words of Corey Boyd - I am back like cooked crack!
