It was announced on Oct. 19th that the 6 foot 5 inch 280lbs USC TE Weslye Saunders is one of 22 players on the midseason watch list for the Mackey Award.
The John Mackey Award, established in 2001, is awarded annually to the most outstanding Tight End in Division I-A college football. In addition to demonstrating outstanding athletic prowess on the field, the award also stands for positive sportsmanship-like behavior, good academic standing & exceptional leadership abilities.
Saunders is currently third on the squad with 17 catches for 194 yards, an average of 11.4 yards per catch.
