Wolf gone --- Youngstown State Media Outlets Reporting Gamecocks Wolford to be named Head Coach?

LOHD Breaking News

Eric Wolford is out at USC.....

Rumors of Eric Wolford becoming the next Head Coach at Youngstown State are getting stronger and seems it is a done deal now that a TV station in the YSU area (WYTV 33) is reporting .....

"Multiple sources close to the YSU program say that Ursuline High School product Eric Wolford is set to be hired as the next head football coach at Youngstown State."

Along with that news source, another - 21 WFMJ- is reporting the same "breaking news" that Wolford will be named YSU coach this week and likely Tuesday.  Wolford has a three-year contract with the Gamecocks with two years remaining at $200,000 per year.  He is expected to sign a five-year contract with Youngstown State, with the final salary expected to be in the $250,000 range.

Eric Wolford is currently the Running Game Coordinator/Offensive Line Coach at the University of South Carolina and  would be sorely missed if this proves true.

I hate to see him leave Carolina as he has improved the line from last year and has a great crop of OL talent coming in to the program next year.

If this is just another rumor then I feel Eric Wolford needs to issue a statement first thing Monday that he intends to stay with Carolina, us fans (and potential recruits) need to know the truth.

Update on the Vandals at Willy B

As you may recall LOHD was the first to report of vandalism at Willy B this morning- HERE - well it took us longer to get a straight answer....guess no one wants to answer to a blog but it was not for lack of effort trust us ---

Hat tip to Joe P as here got the scoop yet no love for LOHD...Here is what Joe Person from The State wrote...

A week and a half before the Clemson-USC game, vandals painted orange in the south end zone at Williams-Brice Stadium overnight Tuesday.  USC equipment manager Chris Matlock saw an aerosol can and “a little orange paint” on the field Wednesday morning. Matlock said the damage was minimal and would not require workers to re-sod the grass before the rivalry game Nov. 28.  Matlock said the graffiti message, which included a ‘C,’ appeared to be incomplete.  “It looked like either they got caught or ran out of paint,” Matlock said.  The stadium vandalism has become a destructive part of the rivalry. Last year vandals sprayed orange paint on the weight room windows at Williams-Brice.  Matlock hopes officials can identify the culprits through surveillance videos.

Nasty Rumor

There is a rumor going around that a couple classless Clemson fans vandalized Williams Brice Stadium last night with orange paint. Painting a tiger paw on the 50 yard line as well as spray painting the windows and doors in front of the locker room with orange tiger paws. I will be heading down to the stadium at lunch to see what I can find out. The other rumor floating around is that the paint on the field is so bad, that USC is going to have to re-sod that part of the field before the Clemson game next week.
We are still checking with other sources to find out if the rumor is true.

Stay tuned....

Dawgs QB Joe Cox out vs. Gamecocks?

LOHD BREAKING NEWS
Rivals is reporting that Joe Cox has shoulder problems and won’t play Saturday night.
UGASports.com is reporting that Logan Gray will start at quarterback for UGA this Saturday against South Carolina.  Seems Cox has a issue with his deltoid and surgery could be in future....

developing....

- seems this is or has been a lingering shoulder issue for Joe Cox.

-Gray did see increased reps with the No. 1 unit, I'm told it was simply a matter of getting him better prepared for times when he is used on game day and that Joe still took the vast majority of the first-team reps.
-Mark Richt to speak to media as normal around 4 p.m. today.
