SEC Basketball Preseason Rankings / Preseason All-SEC Teams

A panel of SEC and national media members have spoken and they say UK in the East and MSU in the West.  Also give Devan Downey some love.

The Wildcats received 20 first place votes of the 25 available. Mississippi State received three and Tennessee the other two.

The predicted order of finish by division was as follows (with total points listed beside each school).

SEC East
1. Kentucky (148 points, 23 first place votes for division title)
2. Tennessee (117 points, 2 first place votes)
3. Vanderbilt (90 points)
4. South Carolina (77 points)
5. Florida (68 points)
6. Georgia (25 points)

SEC West
1. Mississippi State (144 points, 22 first place votes for division title)
2. Ole Miss (120 points, 2 first place votes)
3. Alabama (84 points)
4. LSU (70 points, 1 first place vote)
5. Arkansas (63 points)
6. Auburn (44 points)

The media panel also selected Kentucky forward Patrick Patterson (left) as the preseason SEC Player of the Year.
