Going from stabbed to this?
Quintin Richardson, 18, an offensive lineman and former Spring Valley High star, is charged with simple possession of marijuana. Richardson was arrested outside Hunter’s Green Apartments at 1013 N. Kings Way, where deputies responded at 7 p.m. to a 911 call of shots fired. Deputies found a vehicle and four people, including Richardson, matching information the caller provided. Richardson had a small amount of marijuana in his pocket. Bullets also were found on the scene, but no one has been charged in connection with them.
The 6-foot-4, 276-pound Richardson is the only offensive lineman the Gamecocks signed this year.

Is Tommy Bowden that bad of a coach?
Tommy Bowden is ranked as one of the worst coaches by SI.com. Article HERE.
Here is what it says:
3) Tommy Bowden, Clemson: How does a team with James Davis, C.J. Spiller and Gaines Adams manage to lose four of its last five? How does a program with Clemson's resources fail to crack 8-4? And how has Bowden managed to survive half a decade on the hot seat?
I have to agree. CU has two of the best running backs, probably second to Ark-Kansas, and they fail to win games. Mr. Harper's sole job this year at QB for CU should be to hand off to Davis and Spiller. Mix in a throw and run the I....simple. Some fans up here in the upstate say clemson will go 9-3...any chance?
What do you think? Does he deserve it? Thoughts on the rest of the article by Stewart Mandel?

Bad Sooner...
Somebody got caught.....The Oklahoma football program must forfeit its wins from the 2005 season and will lose two scholarships for the 2008-09 and 2009-10 school years. The penalties, announced Wednesday by the NCAA, stem from a case involving two players, including the Sooners' starting quarterback, who were kicked off the team for being paid for work they had not performed at a Norman car dealership....read more HERE.
Thoughts?
___
Also seems the FSU AD will be losing his job in 18 months. I guess since you can not fire Bobby this is the second best thing to satisfy the fan base. It must suck for him to lose his job that was paying 550k. Read more HERE.

Bad week for SC Baseball Alum...
Powell down -- Former University of South Carolina catcher Landon Powell has suffered a season-ending injury to his anterior cruciate ligament, according to RiverCats.com, Web site of the Oakland A’s AAA affiliate in Sacramento, Calif. Powell, who suffered a similar injury two years ago and missed an entire season, had recently been promoted to Sacramento from AA Midland. At Midland, he hit .292 with 11 homers and 39 RBI in 62 games. He had played four games at Sacramento, batting .294 with solo home runs in each of his first three games.
Melillo on sidelines -- Powell’s teammate at Sacramento and former USC teammate, Kevin Melillo, has been placed on the disabled list retroactive to July 3 with a sprained right wrist, according to RiverCats.com. Melillo had aggravated his already sore wrist on Monday, the Web site said. Melillo has been with Sacramento most of the season, batting .266 with 8 homers, 45 runs batted in and 6 stolen bases. He also was called for one appearance with Oakland, drawing a walk in a pinch-hit role before being returned to Sacramento.
McBeth demoted -- Cincinnati Reds pitcher Marcus McBeth, a Woodruff native and former University of South Carolina outfielder, has been optioned to AAA Louisville. The right-handed reliever had a 2-2 record and a 7.59 earned-run average in 10 innings over 12 appearances.

It seems that fans of FSU think they have the hardest schedule in the nation and they don't understand why the gamechickens are getting any credit for a weak schedule. Well take a look at the schedules and let me know what you think.

Spurrier addresses media...
Here are two articles that shed light on the news conference held yesterday about summer workouts and what god, I mean Spurrier had to say about the USC football team heading into the fall season. May not be the year of the gamecock on the Chinese calender this year but it is growing closer with each season that Spurrier is the Ole Ball Coach at SC. I do feel like the season will be fun to watch, heck, we may run up the score against a team or two.

Back Back Back back, How much can we take from Espn
Well I ended up watching the Home Run Derby last night in San Fran. It turned out to be a pretty good showing from some young players like Matt Holiday and Jose Rios. The best part of the HR derby was the crazy Hispanic with the Dominican flag. After Vlad hit a home run in the 2nd round this guy runs out and whips Vlads face with the flag. Well it turns out that the crazy guy is actually his barber.
Jose Lopez rushes over to congratulate Los Angeles Angels' Vladimir Guerrero after Guerrero won the All-Star Home Run Baseball Derby in San Francisco, Monday, July 9, 2007. Lopez is Guerrero's barber.

Well it is good to be back, and reading the post from the past week. I figured I would post some questions for the readers.
1.) Who is on the hotter seat.... Dave Odom or Tommy Bowden for the upcoming season in there sport?
2.) What incoming freshman will have the most impact for the 2007 football season for the tigers and gamecocks?
3.) Who will be the starting QB’s when the tigers and cocks meet in November?
4.) Who will lead the Gamecocks and Tigers in rushing yards for the 2007 season?
5.) Who will lead the Gamecocks and Tigers in receiving yards for the 2007 season?

Rivals has S. Carolina at 29
Anyone been following the Rivals.com countdown of the Top 50 teams? If you have not then go here to view the latest (right now they are on number 19 but you can view from 19-50). The Rivals crew does a good job of going in-depth on each team and breaking it down.
Anyway, they have South Carolina at number at number 29. Read it here.
Also have Klempson at number 26. Read it here.
Do you agree with their analysis and ranking??? Give some thoughts to the 07-08 season.

What do you think? I think we should not go down this road kind of like that whole "we are" cheer.....we need to develop our own traditions.

A Sunday Golf Article for ya
As I watch the final round of the AT&T National today, I can not help but think about the Washington Post article I read last week.
The Washington Post's Eli Saslow wrote last week the best golf article I have read in a long time. First, understand that Saslow, the author, isn't a pro golfer, or even a single handicapper. He's like most of us - a confessed hacker who loves the game. And also like most hackers has pondered the question: What would a PGA Tour player shoot on the beat up, shortish, rough-around-the-edges courses we frequent every Saturday?
Well, he invited PGA Tour rookie Steve Marino who has solidified his status as one of the world's best golfers. He had three top-10 finishes and more than $700,000 in winnings so far this year.
It is interesting to read the comments about the typical "public" courses and see how Steve performs on them.
