A Gamecock named SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week

The SEC named their players of the week today and one gamecock stood out and was named the top DL in the SEC for week 1; another got a mention.

• In his first snap from scrimmage, Taylor forced a fumble, recovered by South Carolina, leading to the only touchdown of the game, in the Gamecocks’ 7-3 win over N.C. State.
• Taylor finished the game with six tackles, including a game-high three for losses, including a sack.
• On N.C. State’s second possession, Taylor blocked a punt.
• Carolina held the Wolfpack to just 133 yards of offense, including 59 on the ground.

Also a USC Linebacker got a mention for great play in week 1 -
LB ERIC NORWOOD (South Carolina) -- Had team-high eight tackles, including a pair of sacks, in South Carolina’s 7-3 win at N.C. State.
