That is correct and no the title is not wrong. Dave-y Odom and the Boys yet again give up a late lead to lose yet another game. God help USC when the SEC portion of the schedule comes around soon and hopefully Odom is in his office today finding his resume b/c things are not so happy in columbia.
The University of South Carolina looked nothing like team ready for Southeastern Conference play after a stunning 61-58 loss to North Carolina-Asheville on Saturday night.
Not after USC led by seven with 3:57 left and failed to score again, missing five shots and committing back-to-back turnovers in the final 1:26 seconds while UNC-Asheville finished on a 10-0 run, scoring on its final five possessions. UNC-Asheville (11-3) beat USC for only the second time in nine meetings, the Gamecocks (8-6) certainly don't look ready to travel to 15th-ranked Vanderbilt (15-0) on Wednesday night to begin play in the SEC.
More on the game here.

If Coach O thinks the last four minutes of this game were like a horror movie, I guess our SEC schedule is going to be like genocide...
clemson just blew it against the Tarhools.
USC sux
To think we lost out on a good coach last year in Greg Marshal. This team losing has nothing to do with talent and everything to do with coaching. No one can look at the UNC-A roster and say they will win it by talent alone. Odom has to go and I wouldn't be above a mid season firing. By the way I called this loss in the " When will the ACC win another BCS game" blog.
Gray,
Good job, I thought we would have had a better game plan for the big guy. We tried to push him around but that didn't work all that well.
I wouldn't have believed it, but I was there.
Any idea on who the next coach migh be. I wouldn't count out Mr. Marshall yet.
Some observations i have made of the team and of the last game. There is no chemistry out there. they do not play like a team offensivley or defensively. It seems like no one knows where anyone else is on the floor other than themselves. Secondly, they play with no fire or spark. Its like they are just going through the motions, standing around. I think it does have to do with coaching. we are a small team. all of our big guys are bigs that can run the floor well. why are we not out there pressing more. i guess bc we dont have any depth since downey and fredick play the entire game almost. and whose fault is that. odoms for not recruiting players. Also last game up by 7. we call 3 timeouts. what happens out of those 3 timeouts. 3 turnovers. if that isnt a direct correlation of coaching i dont know what is. one other thing, in press conferences odom just scratches his head. he doesnt know what to do. he makes excuses and says things we need to do but we dont do them. the game has passed odom and it is time for him to realize that, be a man, and step down, before it gets any worse, if thats possible.
John,
It was good to see you are the game. I am guessing that promising career in Europe didn't work out.
