Last night Mark Buehrle threw the 18th perfect game in Major League Baseball history. It would have all been for just a win, if DeWayne Wise hadn't made a spectacular catch in the 9th inning to save the perfect game and robbing Gabe Kapler of a homerun. DeWayne is a local baseball star from the Chapin, SC area. So you know we have to give him some love on the blog as well.
This is Buehrle’s 2nd no hitter of his career with the first coming back in April 2007 against the Texas Rangers. The Tampa Ray’s are no slouches at the plate either, ranked 3rd in runs scored in the MLB. In the dog days of summer this is a highlight that you will see on ESPN for a couple of weeks and maybe even longer.
Do you consider DeWayne Wise’s 9th inning catch one of the best catches of all time, due to the circumstances of saving a perfect game?
