Big 10 looking to go to 12?

We have all heard the recent conversations in the media about the Big Ten Conference expanding in the near future to 12 teams. The Big Ten wants to expand in hopes of a conference championship game, to increase its' reach and, more important, it would add the potential for a serious increase in the league's revenues with bowls, tv deals, etc.

Here is the list of "rumored" suspects to join the Big Ten:
-Pittsburgh
-Syracuse
-Rutgers
-Notre Dame
-Kentucky
-Missouri
-Texas
-Tennessee

Which team do you think will jump ship and head over to the Big Ten? I don't see UK or Tenn leaving the SEC, what do you think? Texas could be swayed I feel out of above group.

I think the best choice is Rutgers,

With the Big Ten starting the big ten TV netwrok they would be the obvoius choice with the nations largest TV viewing market. Rutgers is also known as NY university as of late and this would help the Big Ten tv network mucsle its way onto a regular cable broadcaster.

Rutgers would also gain from this with their popularity as of late and the finacial payout from the BIG TEN would be much greater than the Big East.

Plus geographically speaking it is relativley closer then others such as Tenn, KY, or Texas.

I agree. Rutgers is a good bet. I could also see Missouri heading over!

I'd say Syracuse is the best bet. Pitt is not such a great choice because the Big Ten already controls that media market by virtue of its proximity to Penn State and Ohio State.

Rutgers makes sense now, as Gray pointed out, but I wonder if the Big Ten would be hesitant to bring in a team that has traditionally been very similar to Northwestern.

Kentucky, Tennessee and Texas aren't leaving their conferences. Missouri, I don't know a whole lot about, but I would bet that they are making plenty of money in the Big 12 and have some pretty healthy rivalries in conference.
