The Gamecocks suffered a rare February loss Sunday, but not before a couple of emphatic wins against Liberty and Richmond. Jr. RHP Jay Brown turned in USC's best pitching performance of the weekend on Saturday (6 IP, 2 ER, 9 K), though Jr. RHP Harris Honeycutt was solid Friday (5.1 IP, 2 ER, 4 K). Fr. OF Lonnie Chisenhall continued to hammer the ball, going 5-for-9 in the two wins, and Jr. DH Phil Disher did likewise, driving in six runs in the two wins. So. RHP Mike Cisco cruised through 6 IP Sunday before running into trouble in the seventh, and The Citadel scored five runs in the seventh and eighth innings--the last one coming against Gamecocks closer Wynn Pelzer.
