This is a little old but we figured we would ensure you saw this preseason poll.
To no one’s great surprise, Florida was the No. 1 team in the preseason coaches’ poll that was released recenlty. The Gators, coming off a national championship season, received 53 of the 59 first-place votes. Second-ranked Texas received four first-place votes, while No. 3 Oklahoma and No. 4 U.S.C. each got one. Alabama rounded out the top five.
1. Florida (53 first place votes), 1,466 points
2. Texas (4), 1,386
3. Oklahoma (1), 1,358
4. USC (1), 1,321
5. Alabama, 1,134
