Giles is a Gamecock

Gaither (Tampa, FL) 4-star running back Jarvis Giles, one of the most heralded running back prospects in America this recruiting year, has chosen South Carolina over Tennessee. This is huge as the 5-foot-11, 180-pounder will play a great role in the USC backfield. Welcome!

For you myspace kids show Jarvis some Gamecock Nation love on his page HERE . Do notice how in his picture he is standing with Michael Phelps in Williams Brice.

He is going to be a good one

This means that RB Lindsey Lamar (5-9 160) of Tampa, FL will not be a gamecock....most likely headed to Duke.

Hell yes. This class is looking better every day. Now if only we could get Johnnie Farms back on board.

Actually I think it increases our chances to sign Lamar since you always want to play with the best players. Lamar is going to be used as a speed player not an every down back, think of how dangerous they would be with both of them lined up....

By coming early, perhaps he'll have to chance to play right away. But wait and see on that one. There's going to be a lot of suitors for the top two RB spots -- between redshirt freshman Kenny Miles, sophomore Eric Baker and junior Brian Maddox.

And then there's the new kids, Giles, Florida commit Ben Axon (more of a power back compared to Giles) and possibly another speedster, Lindsey Lamar (like Giles, another Tampa native).

Things are looking good for SC!

it is great that we can recruit rb's but it doesn't matter until we can start recruiting some o-line. otherwise you will have a replay of the last 2 years here. below average rushing and protection.

Maybe we can pull a 5 running back system similar to our 5 guard play in basketball. who need an o-line anyway, just like who needs a center in basketball. We will have to run a 3 pitch reverse on just about every play just to get enough time for Garcia to throw the ball down field.

Gray...I could not agree with you more on your point as the OL issue is a concern.
