McKinley entered the UK game needing just four catches to break Sterling Sharpe’s career record of 169 receptions in a career. After a 7 reception day with 88 yards and 1 TD....the record is his alone. His next record is the career receiving yardage record, which he needs 152 more yards to break.
McKinley has had a reception in 37 consecutive games. He set that USC record earlier this season passing Sharpe and Jermale Kelly, who each had a 34-game streak in their careers. McKinley is tied for the fifth longest current streak in the NCAA in consecutive receptions. Jarrett Dillard of Rice leads the way with a catch in 42 straight games.
