It is time for the gamecocks to shine, and Clemson to suck it up

Well it is that time of year when every person in SC is glued to the tube (computer screen that is) updating yahoo sports pages to see if Clemson and Carolina are defeating there opponents in there respected regional. I did a pretty bad job of predicting the out come of March Madness a couple months ago but I figured what more could the readers of LOHD want then my advice in who to pick in the CWS. Granted most people expect Clemson to win it all, but as a true gamecock fan I would never do that. So today I am going to tell you how I really feel about each team and who is going to come out of the region a winner. I think I am coming down with a sinus infection so please pardon the bad mood.

Clemson Regional- Pretty easy region since Miss St. didn’t even make the SEC tourney; they went from #1 in the nation this year to the bottom of the SEC west. Clemson shouldn’t have any problem winning this region. Which makes me even sicker? Clemson

Charlottesville regional- Playing in a big park should play to the advantage of the gamecocks as well as UVA. Opponents have hit three home runs in Virginia’s 34 home games. I have a good feeling that Carolina can do some damage in the regional. Look for Carolina to come out of the region with a victory and head to UGA for a rematch with the dawgs.

Overall favorites- Clemson
Can’t look past- Texas and Rice
Sleeper- Winthrop Pepperdine and ND
Tradition- Stanford and Cal state Fullerton

Look for the SEC, and Big 12 teams to dominate early and for the smaller schools to take advantage of good pitching and timely hitting. Gamecock and Tiger fans remember the Rajan Cajuns a couple years ago.
