Where have I heard this?

Geeez....haven't we heard this crap out of Clemson, SC before....here and here....I am sure that Tommy will find a way to take his team with the great expectations, a weak ACC and a soft schedule and blow it!
I thought the LOHD addressed some of this here and here.

Thoughts?

USC to Bring the Payne

Chris Payne that is....he just reversed course to sign with the Gamecocks as a athlete and we welcome him to the gamecock family.

USC Baseball to square off this weekend

South Carolina (5-2) returns to action on the baseball diamond this weekend with a three-game series vs. Duquesne (0-7) at Sarge Frye Field.

More on the series go here.

Clemson Football Player facing troblue

I am surprised that no news media in the upstate has picked up on this yet.....wait no I am not b/c clemson can do no wrong in the eyes of the upstate media?
Glad to see we are not the only school in the state with some misfits.

Here is the lead in to the story:
According to multiple sources familiar with the situation, Vincent is facing a possible suspension for the entire spring practice because of a violation of team policy. Vincent, who will be a senior in the 2008 season, still has charges pending for a December DUI arrest.

Come to think of it....

Was anyone surprised that Dave Odom's last home game ended in a loss? I must say though I was surprised that the SC baseball team got beat by some forty-niners. And then to read this today...geez...can we get some postive feelings from Gamecock sports?

Final Home Basketball Game for USC

USC, 13-15 and 5-9 in the SEC, will finish out the regular-season home schedule when it hosts Kentucky, 16-11 and 10-4 in the SEC, tonight at 7 pm.

It will be the final home game of head coach Dave Odom's South Carolina career as he is retiring at the end of the season. It is also the final home game of senior Dwayne Day. Day will graduate with a degree in African-American Studies in May.

Let's hope Devan Downey's and Mike Holmes have big games like they did recently against Auburn. Glad to see Mike Holmes finally show up b/c we all know he is good. I also hope, with at least three games to play, Downey breaks the steals record. He is 12 steals from breaking the SEC record and has 3 to go to break the USC record. Chuck Eidson is No. 2 in the SEC with the 93 steals (2000), but the SEC record was set by Arkansas' Clint McDaniel who stole the ball 102 times in 37 games in 1994-95.

Interesting fact of our season thus far ---USC is 9-8 in games decided by seven points or less this season.

Anyway...go cocks - let's finish the season strong!

Yet more...Davis to be suspened for 1 game

University of South Carolina tailback Mike Davis will be suspended for one game this season for violating the athletic department's class attendance policy. Which game? Well that has yet to be determined. Read more - here.

Also in the article it says a few other names that will miss some time, here is the caption:

The Gamecocks are already set to be without one starter in their first two games --left offensive tackle Jamon Meredith of Simpsonville. The NCAA mandated Meredith miss the first two games when it granted him a redshirt year for 2004 after he played three plays against Vanderbilt. Spurrier also said redshirt freshman quarterback Stephen Garcia may miss a few practices this spring because of missed classes. Garcia is expected to vie with Chris Smelley for the starting job when spring drills begin March 19.

What now

Carlos done gone and got in touble. This has been a bad week for carolina football.
