Final Home Basketball Game for USC

USC, 13-15 and 5-9 in the SEC, will finish out the regular-season home schedule when it hosts Kentucky, 16-11 and 10-4 in the SEC, tonight at 7 pm.

It will be the final home game of head coach Dave Odom's South Carolina career as he is retiring at the end of the season. It is also the final home game of senior Dwayne Day. Day will graduate with a degree in African-American Studies in May.

Let's hope Devan Downey's and Mike Holmes have big games like they did recently against Auburn. Glad to see Mike Holmes finally show up b/c we all know he is good. I also hope, with at least three games to play, Downey breaks the steals record. He is 12 steals from breaking the SEC record and has 3 to go to break the USC record. Chuck Eidson is No. 2 in the SEC with the 93 steals (2000), but the SEC record was set by Arkansas' Clint McDaniel who stole the ball 102 times in 37 games in 1994-95.

Interesting fact of our season thus far ---USC is 9-8 in games decided by seven points or less this season.

Anyway...go cocks - let's finish the season strong!

Flounder, I do not know how we can get much better at protecting the ball buddy. #5 in turnovers is a good thing. The stat means we commit the 5th less turnovers a game in the country. We have a total of 295 TO and we average 10.5 a game. That is one of our good things. I would say rebounding, poor shot selection, defense, depth, and overall talent is where we should start. here is the link
