Spurrier going soft?

While hitting the golf links for an afternoon round at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, Spurrier passed on the opportunity to talk smack against fellow Southeastern Conference rivals.

When asked why he wouldn’t address the back-and-forth that has taken place for years between SEC coaches, Spurrier bluntly said, “I haven’t won enough games to banter with anybody right now. So when you’re 7-5 and 7-6, which is about what we’ve averaged, you just try to worry about your team.”

Don't get soft on us Coach....we need the "fire" to come from you to get the team juiced about the 2009 season!

It is sad to spurrier stoop to this level as he makes the second more fun when he talks some trash. Would be nice to see lane and steve go back and forth. But in all truthfulness neither coach can talk 'junk.'

Steve has a hell of a schedule starring him in the face so he knows better than to talk smack. Wiser to let his players play but thus far that has not worked.
