The Gamecocks had eight players in the fold by 9 a.m. plus six who enrolled for the spring semester in what’s anticipated to be a huge recruiting haul.
In addition to Mackey, who prepped at Hargrave Military, the Gamecocks have signed letters from four state products -- defensive backs DdMario Jeffery and Chris Payne of Columbia, and D.J. Swearinger from Greenwood and defensive lineman Aldrick Fordham of Saint Stephen.
Also USC got Leon Mackey
