Ex-University of South Carolina tailback Cory Boyd, who led the Gamecocks in rushing and second in receiving, will take part in the NFL Combine.
The 6-foot-1, 218-pound Boyd was the only Gamecock player invited to the combine Feb. 20-26. Thirteen players with South Carolina ties will take part in this week’s combine. Other notable names are Clemson’s Phillip Merling, Rafeal Little at UK, former Rock Hill standout Jonathan Hefney who plays for Tenn and a great running back for the mighty purple paladians by the name of Jerome Felton, not to mention this guy from Newberry -Benedict.
Boyd is projected to be picked around the fifth round in the NFL draft.
Boyd rushed for 903 yards and nine touchdowns this season and also had 36 receptions for 405 yards and one TD. He graduated in December with a degree in hospitality management. The guys at the LOHD wish him well this week!
