Beamer Ball at Carolina?

No that Beamer.... his son. Today, University of South Carolina head football coach Steve Spurrier added Shane Beamer to his coaching staff. Beamer will handle the outside linebacker responsibilities and serve as co-coordinator of special teams.

In addition, Coach Spurrier announced that David Reaves had been promoted to quarterbacks coach.

Beamer, 29, joins the Carolina staff after spending the past three seasons at Mississippi State University. He was hired by Sylvester Croom in January of 2004 to coach the Bulldog cornerbacks under defensive coordinator Ellis Johnson. He made the move to running backs coach in the spring of 2006. He also served as the program's recruiting coordinator.

Maybe we will see a block punt or kick this upcoming season? Thoughts?

I think it is a good hire, spurrier likes to hire coach's sons. I don't see Reeves being in Columbia for to long, he is becoming a ho prospect in the coaching world

They Say beamer is a great recruiter and has connections to the Atlanta area where Spurrier is looking to recruit hard in the next two years.
